GRH EVENT REMINDER
COMMUNITY LITTER PICK. SUNDAY 22ND JULY FROM 10AM
Join us for the GRH Litter Picking Event
Sunday 22nd June, From 10.00am
Meet by The Jephcott/Wedding Bridge next to Gentleman’s Row
Keen to make a positive difference in the neighbourhood? Then join the GRH litter pick next Sunday!
Taking part in a litter picking event not only improves the local environment and helps protect wildlife, but it also shows others that littering is not acceptable or tolerated here!
Litter picking also fosters a sense of shared purpose and has proven mental and physical health benefits.
Where to go?
Just head to the Jephcott/Wedding Bridge next to Gentleman’s Row from 10.00am.
How do I get my equipment?
The equipment will be ready and waiting for you at the event location.
You will receive: a litter picker, a pair of disposable gloves, a waste bag and a bag hoop.
When you have finished, please return your equipment to the pick up location.
Do I need to prepare or bring anything?
You don’t need to bring anything but we would advise to wear some sturdy, comfy footwear. If you want to wear your own gloves then do bring those with you.
Refreshments will be provided.
Can children attend?
Residents of all ages are welcome! Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
Some health and safety information we need to share with GRH volunteer litter pickers:
Please wear your gloves at all times.
If you find something that you are concerned about, please let one of the organisers know.
Wash your hands after litter picking.
Keep hands away from mouth and eyes while litter-picking.
Wash hands and forearms before eating, drinking, smoking or going to the toilet.
We recommend that you avoid:
Potentially hazardous objects such as unidentified cans or canisters
Sharp objects such as broken glass – these should be collected in separate containers not litter bags.
Working alone – try to stay in sight and earshot of others but if not possible then let someone know where you’ve gone and when to expect you back.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you next Sunday 22nd!
